CORONA CLASSICS TEXTILE/CORONA・HUNTING OX FW2026

ビンテージのフィッシングジャケットに使われていた生地をベースに、オリジナルテキスタイルとして開発した “HUNTING OX（ハンティングオックス）”。

元になったのは、100年以上前のフィッシングジャケットの生地。当時すでに撥水加工が施されていました。長い年月の経年変化によってその撥水性はほとんど失われているものの、水を当てると今でも水が玉になるのには驚かされます。

ただ、今回この生地を再現するうえで着目したのは撥水機能そのものではありません。
100年という時間の中で撥水加工が落ちていくことで生まれた、独特の**“カサカサ”とした綿オックスの質感**。その風合いをどう表現するかが、開発の大きなポイントでした。
Hunting Ox — an original textile developed based on the fabric of a vintage fishing jacket.

The source fabric dates back over 100 years and originally came from a fishing jacket that already had a water-repellent finish applied at the time. Although the repellent treatment has mostly worn off through decades of aging, it’s still surprising to see water bead up when it touches the fabric.

However, the key point in developing this textile was not the water-repellent function itself. What we wanted to recreate was the unique, slightly “dry” and crisp texture of cotton oxford that emerged as the water-repellent finish gradually faded over the course of a century.

Original Vintage "Macys" Fishing Jacket

【FABRIC DETAILS】

1920年代のMacy’s（メーシーズ）のフィッシングジャケットに用いられていた生地を起点に、当時の空気感を踏襲しながらオリジナルで再構築したテキスタイルです。
経糸・緯糸には、ナチュラルな弱ムラを持つアメリカ綿主体の混綿糸を採用。ドライで少し粗さの残るタッチが、ビンテージらしい奥行きを生み出します。
最終工程では特殊樹脂による堅仕上げ加工を施し、本来は撥水性を付与する目的で施された樹脂が、経年により徐々に抜け落ち、部分的に残った状態をイメージ。長年着込まれた古いワークウェアのような、独特の風合いを再現しています。

This original textile is reinterpreted from fabrics used in Macy’s fishing jackets of the 1920s, carefully reconstructed to capture the atmosphere of the era.
Both warp and weft are woven from blended yarns based on American cotton, featuring subtle natural irregularity. The result is a dry hand with a slightly coarse texture that adds depth and character reminiscent of vintage fabrics.
The fabric is finished with a firm-setting treatment using a special resin. Originally applied to impart water resistance, the resin is intentionally designed to appear partially worn away over time, evoking the look and feel of aged workwear that has been shaped by years of use.
