THE 1950s MASLAND “SLEEVELESS FISHING JACKET”

今は無き、アメリカのアウトドアブランド “MASLAND & SONS（マスランド）”のフィッシングジャケット。
この会社が昔に作った、ハンティングやフィッシングのジャケットやベストは本当に面白い。
昔は軍の仕事もしていたので、このベストもどこか“軍物”っぽい。
このパッと見、“アウトドア物なのか軍物なのかよくわからない”ところがいい。

因みに、これは“ベスト”じゃなくて、 “SLEEVELESS FISHING JACKET“ = 袖なしのフィッシングジャケットなんです。
ネーミングも面白い！！

A fishing jacket from MASLAND & SONS, a now-defunct American outdoor brand.
The hunting and fishing jackets and vests they made back in the day are truly fascinating. The company also produced garments for the U.S. military, which may explain why this piece has a distinctly military feel. What I love about this vest is that, at first glance, you can’t quite tell whether it’s outdoor gear or military issue.

Interestingly, it wasn’t called a “vest,” but a “SLEEVELESS FISHING JACKET.” Even the name is brilliant!
